The body of the Caius is constructed from Shimano's XT-7 composite, which is very durable to withstand accidental bumps and knocks, and the spool is made from the same high-quality aluminum used on much more expensive models. For newbies, the VBS brake system has an improved 6-pin design to help prevent overloads and wigs. Owning a Shimano reel is something to be proud of and many of the world's best anglers have started their journey with a reel like the Shimano Caius.
