TECHNOLOGIES

INTERNAL MIDSOLE SYSTEM
The system allows the insole to perfectly capture the anatomy of the foot, guarantees uniform pressure distribution, prevents lateral and frontal slipping during intense use and at the same time offers shock absorption and excellent wearing comfort.
Exosk
AIR8000
AIR 8000
Laboratory tests carried out by Gore Tex confirm that the upper made with the exclusive AKU AIR 8000® system offers a level of breathability up to 11.5 times higher than normal standards.

GORE-TEX®
The GORE-TEX® membrane contains approximately 1.4 billion microscopic pores per square centimeter. These pores are approximately 20,000 times smaller than a water droplet, but 700 times larger than a water vapor molecule. Thus, while water droplets cannot penetrate the GORE-TEX® membrane, water vapor—that is, gaseous sweat—escapes easily.
For the footwear sector, GORE-TEX® has developed 3 specific types of laminates, with specific functional properties.

The design of the sole
The sole must copy the anatomical and helical shape of the bottom of the AKU lasts, in order to support and enhance their anatomical and dynamic characteristics.
Other aspects to pay attention to are: reliability, which must be consistent with the use for which the shoe was designed and with a view to minimising material waste, and the search for simplicity of interface/assembly between the sole and the other components of the shoe.

THE SHAPE
The creation of a last, the result of constant research into plantar anatomy, is a long and painstaking process that condenses AKU's extensive experience in the design and production of high-quality mountaineering, backpacking and trekking footwear.
The original AKU shape is the matrix from which, thanks to specific adaptations, the different types of shape derive, which vary in relation to the different models and the specific function of use of the product.
Soft, comfortable lasts are the hallmark of ACTIVE footwear, designed for light outdoor activities in undemanding conditions and on even surfaces. Enveloping, anatomical lasts are used in TREKKING footwear, offering stability and promoting dynamic walking on mountain trails with very uneven surfaces. Finally, sleek, elongated lasts are used in professional MOUNTAIN footwear, promoting precision and sensitivity when climbing on rock and ice.
