The new Luvias takes the concept of superlight reel to a new level: in its latest version it goes beyond the very concept of lightness and combines featherweight with unparalleled mechanical performance.

NEW LUVIAS LT
Always a paradigm of lightness , the new Luvias takes this feature even further, adopting the new technological solutions of the construction concept called Airdrive Design .
Thanks to the redesign of the rotor (Airdrive Rotor), spool (Airdrive spool), shaft (Airdrive shaft) and bail (Airdrive bail), the new Luvias has been able to benefit from a significant weight saving: taking the 2500 size as a reference, compared to the previous model the weight is from 175 to 150 grams .
The total redesign of each construction element has led not only to greater lightness but also to an improvement in smoothness and fluidity in use, reducing the rotation inertia of the rotor to a minimum: this makes it even more reactive to the first solicitation of the handle and in the stop and go during recovery, thus improving the precision in imparting the right movements to the artificial in spinning fishing.
Important news about the new Luvias is the ATD-L clutch , evolution of the famous ATD progressive clutches: it is now even softer and more responsive to the initial stress and then hardens even more progressively to successfully retrieve the fish.
This allows for less stress on the line, thus making it easier and safer to fish with thin leaders.
On the 2000 and 2500 S sizes the drag is now set to a max drag of 5kg (on the old 2500 size it was 10kg) for further improved sensitivity and precision in finesse techniques.

Airdrive Design
AIRDRIVE DESIGN is the new construction concept developed to improve fixed spool reels, optimising their lightness, smoothness and reducing their rotation inertia without compromising their robustness.
It is based on the redesign of the key components of the reels:
AIRDRIVE ROTOR
The new rotor, with a design aimed at reducing rotational inertia, maintains solidity and resistance while weighing less than the previous Air Rotor, thanks to significant structural improvements.
AIRDRIVE BAIL
Evolution of the famous Air Bail, the Airdrive Bail is thinner, lighter and at the same time resistant. Its inclination has also been revised to improve the sliding of the line towards the roller.
The latest innovation regarding the bow is the AIRDRIVE BAIL version - solid, lighter than the previous one (8%) and more resistant to stress: the durability and resistance over time of the mechanism
opening has more than doubled.
AIRDRIVESHAFT
New Airdrive Shaft minimizes friction and power dispersion, ensuring smooth and silent rotation; the Main Shaft, supported by special collars, moves without contact with the pinion, differentiating itself from traditional systems.
AIRDRIVE SPOOL
Optimized spool for weight and functionality: weight reduction for better oscillation, anti-kink line deflector and revised clicker mechanism for a clearer sound.
The various components of the AIRDRIVE DESIGN can be present on the new Daiwa reels in whole or in part depending on the model.
Monocoque Body
The body of the reel is a single piece of machined material. This makes it stronger, more rigid and sealed against salt. The monocoque body allows for the housing of a larger drive gear, improving rotation and increasing power.
Zaion
The microscope highlights the multidirectional carbon microfibers, responsible for absorbing stress and providing extraordinary rigidity. On the scales, a shiver: at the same volume, it weighs 50% of Aluminum. It is Zaion, the composite developed by Daiwa to obtain structures with performances similar to those of metals, at a lower cost because they do not require anti-corrosion treatments. A revolution: try a reel with a Zaion structure and you will understand its greatness!
magsealed
A special magnetized oil membrane seals the pinion outlet from the body, preventing water from penetrating the body. The technology, used by NASA in fuel pipes on space shuttles, is exclusive to Daiwa in the industry. It is intuitive that the absence of water and dust inside the body preserves the mechanisms from the risk of corrosion, extending the life of the reel. On the most advanced reels, the system is also applied to the benefit of the line guide and the drive wheel, other weak points to be protected. Both applications affect the smoothness of rotation, reducing friction and increasing the pleasure of fishing.
ATD
Automatic progressive clutch. With the ATD the brake on the reel reacts gently to the initial stress, then progressively adjusts to the set "brake".
The concept of progressive clutch is taken to the extreme with the new ATD-TYPE L:
now the resistance of the discs is even more progressive and adjustable, allowing for more effective and safe recovery even with thin wires.
CRBB
Daiwa CRBB bearings are corrosion-free thanks to the grease inserted inside them and sealed with special cheeks on both faces. The surface of the ball is then hardened by a special heat treatment.
TOUGH DIGIGEAR
Superior gearing, developed from the famous Daiwa Digigear. Tough Digigear components have increased in size and improved materials, guaranteeing better performance in terms of reliability and durability over time.
LC ABS
It is a technology that combines the characteristics of ABS coils with Long Cast technology. The upper edge is composed of two edges gradually oriented towards the outside to further reduce the friction of the outgoing wire.
TB3 TwistBuster
Twist Buster III is the new version of Daiwa's anti-twist technology which, thanks to the addition of another groove on the line guide roller, allows to minimize the flattening effect of the line when retrieved.
Infinite ANTIREVERSE
A maxi-roller bearing, which rotates in one direction only, is responsible for the "one-way" rotation, that is, without that annoying "backward step" common to reels equipped with a normal anti-return.
