KNIFE - OPINEL - N°07 INOX

Created by Joseph Opinel over 120 years ago, the No. 07 remains a symbol of the brand. It is ideal for camping and picnics, but will also always accompany you in your daily life. Its 8 cm stainless steel blade guarantees an excellent cut and excellent resistance to corrosion. Its varnished beech handle ensures a secure and pleasant grip. The safety ring allows you to lock the blade in the open or closed position.

The martensitic stainless steel used in OPINEL blades is optimised to ensure high resistance to corrosion and high mechanical performance. The blade has an excellent cutting edge and high resistance to abrasion (wear) which allows it to withstand regular contact with hard materials, such as ceramic, before needing to be resharpened. Unlike carbon steel, stainless steel has the advantage of being maintenance-free under normal conditions of use. However, it can reach its limits when placed in prolonged contact with an aggressive environment (acid, salt water, detergents, etc.). Hardness 55-57 HRC. European origin.

Beech is the most commonly used wood for the manufacture of Opinel handles. Coming from French plantations, it is hard, resistant and easy to work. With a homogeneous appearance, its light colour varies from yellow to pink. It is recognisable by the presence of numerous dark lines. The handle is varnished to be effectively protected from dirt and humidity.
